The sheer magnitude and duration of this event is much longer than related on the two official weeks of the Olympic Games. Security and related activities cover a span of 68 days, beginning Jan. 12 and ending March 21 with the closing of the Paralympic Games.

During this period, special arrangements for after-hours deliveries to restricted zones in the downtown core will be in effect. Traffic congestion will occur on all arterial roads because of road closures and traffic re-routes into and out of the city.
